Behind the Overcurve R4 shoes is an advanced construction technique: flexible, polyurethane laminated material is combined over a comfortable mesh that reduces energy loss and provides long-lasting foot support where it is most needed.
OVERCURVE
Fastening the boot is fast, reliable and secure, powered by the BOA® IP1 micro-adjustment wheel in the Overcurve pattern. The Overcurve shoe construction features a stepped collar that hugs the ankle and mimics the natural alignment of the two bony prominences of the ankle: the lateral and medial malleolus. The result is an asymmetric shape, where the neck of the shoe curves over the leg from the outside to the inside.
R4 OUTSOLE
The mid-stiff R4 outsole strikes a balance between comfort and pedaling efficiency, making it truly versatile and featuring a lower profile construction-optimized thanks to its 15% carbon fiber composition. The R4 sole also provides effective ventilation with an internal channel for effective temperature regulation. The footpeg is positioned slightly further towards the heel than the traditional placement to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce pressure on the knees, which is particularly suitable for aggressively forward aerodynamic riding positions.
The Tempo R4 Overcurve is a great, all-round shoe with a beautiful design that will do wonders in daily training, on weekend group rides, but also on Gran Fondas or amateur races. The upper part of the shoe is asymmetrically designed in the spirit of Overcurve pattern technology, ergonomically corresponds to the anatomy of the foot and takes care of riding comfort. The mesh upper part of the sneaker, vented tongue and sole ensure sufficient ventilation. A stiff sole made of a mixture of carbon and nylon takes care of efficient energy transfer.
