Flattop™
In order to be able to realize the larger transmission range of the X-RANGE™ cassettes and to enable smoother, smaller gear changes, a narrower chain is required. To ensure that durability is not compromised, SRAM has added material to the flat side of the outer straps and hard chrome-plated the rivets and bushings. The Flattop™ chains not only outperform the 11-speed models in terms of longevity, but are also at least as efficient.
